In some cases, you can receive health insurance benefits by applying to the Health Insurance Society for reimbursement after paying all costs to the medical care institution or other facility up front.

Amounts of benefits are based on the treatment costs stipulated under health insurance in Japan. See the “Description” sheet for more information on benefit amounts. If prescription eyewear was prepared again after payment of benefits of medical care expenses, you can apply for payment once again as long as certain conditions are met. See the “Description” sheet concerning the necessary conditions. When submitting a renewal application, you will be asked to submit all of the above application documents just as for a new application. |
